Does ByteTranslation use machine translation?

We only work with professional human translators in order to provide specialized and accurate translations. We do not use machine translation. Some translators use Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) tools, others rely solely on a multilingual word processor and their own experience.

What kinds of documents are best suited for professional translation?

All outgoing documents from and about your company are particularly well suited for professional translation. A good translation will help you build credibility as a global player. On the other hand, a poorly translated document will always spoil the first impression of a brand or corporate image.
Incoming foreign documents of dubious value are best suited for machine translation. For example, you would not use human translation for e-mail spam in Chinese.

Almost all ByteTranslation translators are native speakers of the target language. We believe that accuracy depends on having translators that are native speakers. We employ a mix of technical experts with strong linguistic skills, as well as expert linguists with good technical backgrounds. How do I view documents with different language characters?

When you receive a translated document, you will probably want to open the translation and look at it. If the document uses a different character set (e.g. Japanese, Chinese), it will not display correctly.
If you are using Windows, you can download support for double-byte character sets from Microsoft.
Using Internet Explorer, click here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/recommended/ime/install.mspx).
Choose the language pack you need and install it. After installation, you will be able to see the appropriate characters.
If you are using a different operating system, or if the installation fails, we will print a copy of your document and mail it to you.

What types of files can ByteTranslation handle?

The document you submit must be saved in a format that ByteTranslation can process. We can handle the following file types:

.html
.txt

Note: graphics, headers, footers, and macros are not recognized as part of the text to be translated. For this reason, the word count may not be accurate. If the actual word count is different from the one quoted online, we will contact you before proceeding.

The price is automatically calculated for each service.

Our prices are based on the word count. This is the most objective way of quantifying our work, and this pricing method is fairly standard in the translation industry. Our rates vary depending on the word count, the languages selected, and the type of service.
The price does not include the translation of text contained in graphics or any formatting after the translation process.
